My son, MothT bought me this shirt because he knows that DOCTOR WHO is my all-time (I mean #1 period!) favorite television show (the CLASSIC WHO, Pertwee, BAKER, Davison). Now rogue evolent is ready to meet Rassilon himself for tete-a-tete in the High Council of Gallifrey!
The boy also got me SEASON ONE of my current favorite TV show, FRINGE. I think HOUSE is a better show, but I like FRINGE more!Happy New Years one and all

I actually watched my very first Dr. Who last night. It was the movie starring Peter Cushing. Not sure how it ranks among Dr. Who stuff, but I liked it.

Now you can go tripping through time with the best of them in your new T-Shirt. The Cushing Dr. Who film has very little Cushing in it and is a rather comical (unattended) film. The film is worth watching, but don't expect a Dr. Who worthy endeavor. Just my opinion.

ReplyDeleteYeah, I kind of thought that the Doctor Who movie with Cushing was simply a way for the BBC to "cash in" on the (then) Dalek mania that was running amok (in Kent; I'd like to meet his tailor) in the UK...and getting an Icon like Cushing didn't hurt the world-wide box office either. But, yeah, amongst true WHOVIANS...that film is not considered part of the "canon" but an "imaginary tale" (like the old Superman comics from the early 60s..."what if Superman had been born a fish..." or whatnot :) )
